INSPIRATI

Together with creating real change, I get great delight from the access & opportunities my work offers to meet so many different people. I am so often floored by peoples’ creativity. I love to listen to – & learn about – other peoples’ stories. With “Inspirati” I aim to share & promote others’ genius; ideas & work that I love… enjoy!

Susan Baird

Susan is one of my oldest & bestest friends, who lives between Sydney & Hill End (a historic former goldmining town). Her paintings of the Australian bush are sublime & her work is hung in the some of the best galleries & collections all over the world.

Fabiana & Roberto

This lovely couple met as architects & came to Kenya for a housing project in Lake Victoria. They now make fabulous (& sustainable!) homeware, lighting & nutritional products using the entire of Baobab tree pods. I love their workshop & gallery in a sisal plantation in Kilifi, & have many of their hand-crafted lamps in my home.

Allan “think” Kioko

Allan is a brilliant young artist whose work is intrinsic to the local Kenyan experience. He specialises in beautiful portraiture that reviews human relationships & his alias “think” reflects the process & intended affect of his work.

Jimmy Kitheka

Jimmy is one of the original artists that really helped me get my NGO, Artists 4 Development, up & running. A4D simultaneously bolsters local artists & marginalised kids by paying talented people like Jimmy to teach school-children art & drama. Jimmy did all this whilst keeping up his own wonderful art; impressionist works that capture Kenyan sceneries & landscapes.
